Actress Alankrita Sahai has carved a niche for herself in the entertainment space. She is well-known for her portrayal in films such as Love per Square Foot and Namaste England. The actress has now been featured in a heartbreaking music video, Tere Bin, with Akhil Sachdeva. The track is directed by Navjit Buttar, and the music is composed by Vaibhav Pani.

In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Alankrita talked about re-creating the iconic song of Atif Aslam – Tere Bin, the use of autotune and AI in music, being a part of remix culture, behind-the-scenes moments, and more.

Tere Bin is a remix of Atif Aslam’s iconic song. Do you feel you have done justice to his track?

I truly admire Atif Aslam’s work, and it was a privilege to reinterpret such an iconic song. I aimed to bring my own flavour to it while respecting the original’s essence. I hope fans feel that I’ve done justice to it.

Recreating a beloved classic comes with its own set of challenges. Did you feel any pressure as it was a re-creation?

Absolutely, recreating a beloved classic comes with its own challenges. There’s a sense of responsibility to honour the original while also making it fresh and relatable for today’s audience. I felt the pressure, but it motivated me to put in my best effort.

What is your perspective on the use of autotune in music and the trend of AI recreating legendary voices?

Autotune can be a powerful tool when used effectively. It can enhance the emotional depth of a track, but I believe the human touch is irreplaceable. As for AI recreating voices, while it’s fascinating, I think there’s something uniquely special about the nuances of a live performance and the artist’s individuality.

Could you share any behind-the-scenes stories or fun moments from the shoot that fans would love to hear?

One of the fun moments during the shoot was when we tried to capture the perfect shot, and the entire crew ended up bursting into laughter over a minor mishap. It reminded me of how important it is to enjoy the process.

Do you think remixes are a trend that will continue to grow in the music industry, and how do you feel about being part of this trend?

I believe remixes will continue to grow as they bridge generations of music lovers. It’s exciting to see how artists can reinterpret classics and introduce them to new audiences. I’m thrilled to be part of this trend.

Do you think originality in music is suffering because of the remix/recreation culture?

While there’s a lot of focus on remixes and recreations, I think there’s still a strong market for original music. It’s all about balance—celebrating the past while innovating for the future.

What are you planning next?

I’m currently working on new projects that I can’t wait to share. An OTT series and much more. Stay tuned for some original music that I hope will resonate with everyone.
